On Any Sunday—an Oscar nominated movie from 1971 about motorcycle racing and culture that inspired the generation that later on pioneered the lifestyle and sport we know today as FMX. Before getting to the core of the story of Freeriding and FMX in the late 90s and early 2000s, it’s necessary to take a short trip way back to the very roots of Motocross, Freeriding, and actually filmmaking within the moto world as well. It helps understand where the mindset of being fast, free and fearless comes from.
Ask any legend from the MX and FMX world and they will tell you that On Any Sunday is in the top 3 of the most influential motocross movies in history. This is why I had to reach out to @brucebrownfilms in order to ask for a selection of historic photography that would underline the story of my book. And to my surprise, they are in! I’m so happy to be able to add this key piece of moto history to my work.
