RIP Jeremy Lusk, 1984-2009 — Since I wasn’t able to post it yesterday, I’d like to take the opportunity to do it now. When Jeremy competed in the RedBull X-Fighters Series in 2008, the penultimate stop has been held at the infamous Oetelshofen Quarry in Wuppertal, Germany. Lusk beat @matrebeaud at the X-Games earlier that month, but now Mat took the win at this stop, leaving Jeremy at 2nd place.
At the winners ceremony, Lusk took a quick glance at the lens of photographer @sandrasteh , sending out an equally quick, but big smile that now, 15 years later, seems to visualize the very core of Lusks personality — happiness and a wide open heart. It’s a smile that makes you smile. This is the power of photography.
This sport is gnarly and it has been ever since. We’ll never forget the fallen heroes that pioneered and shaped this culture. We’ll celebrate their legacies one year after another, continuously drawing strength and gratitude from it.
