Frank Hoppen @assihoppen is one of the corner stones in terms of photography for this book project. He is a legend when it comes to capturing the moment from a different perspective. He mastered digital photography and picture editing, which earned him the World Photoshop Guru Award. I remember admiring his work in the german MotoX magazine as a kid, which makes it even more incredible to be able to show his work in this book. Whether it was MX, SX or FMX, he shot all the top riders on and off the track and developed a unique style of capturing moments.
Frank was the first photographer I reached out to. Despite very serious health issues that are still hunting him down each and every day, he was ready to share an incredible archive of 18.000 pictures from 1999 until 2012, containing nearly every memorable event in FMX history. I had a wonderful interview with him and we still talk to eachother every now and then. He never loses his unique sense of humor, despite the circumstances. I will forever be grateful for what he did for me and for cheering me on for this project. He is one of the main reasons why I want this project to succeed, and I’m super proud to have his work in here. Thank you, Kamikaze Hoppen!
